Science New Zealand
Welcome to Science New Zealand. It represents the seven Crown Research Institutes, New Zealand’s largest science research organisations. The CRIs are owned by the New Zealand Government to undertake excellent science relevant to New Zealand and to transfer that knowledge into society.
The seven CRIs are each autonomous companies, with extremely strong relationships with the sectors they serve across the public and private areas.
The CRIs employ more than 4,000 people throughout New Zealand.
They work very closely with each other, and with other researchers in New Zealand and around the globe, to form the best teams to do innovative science research, investigate and create the best solutions and provide the best advice.
From environment to manufacturing, in niche technologies and with leading edge science, the CRIs identify, respond to and solve science-based challenges affecting our lives today and tomorrow.
